Making a Case for Creativity

The most regretful people on earth are those who felt the call to creative work, who felt their own creative power restive and uprising, and gave to it neither power or time. - Mary Oliver

Creative work is a gift to the world and every being in it.  Don’t cheat us of your contribution.  Give us what you’ve got. - Steven Pressfield

The only hope Mother Earth has for survival is our recovering creativity—which is, of course, our divine power. Creativity is so satisfying, so important, not because it produces something but because the process is cosmological. There’s joy and delight in giving birth. - Matthew Fox

Your way of looking at the world needs to be ever more fertile and original. The world is changing. The old ways are dead. And you need people around you who concur. That means hanging out more with the creative people, the freaks, the real visionaries, than you’re already doing. Avoid the dullards; avoid the folk who play it safe. They can’t help you anymore. Their stability model no longer offers that much stability. They are extinct—they are extinct. - Erich Fromm

This is the root of the creative work we do: the desire to intimately touch and share the truth of our lives and our world, to penetrate the heart and spirit of our lives and our world; to see and share what only the soul can see. - Oriah Mountain Dreamer
