History

Seton Cove in Austin, Texas is the birthplace of Mandorla.

Seton Cove was founded in 1995 by Sister Mary Rose McPhee, DC and a group of dedicated supporters with the mission to reach out to the poor in spirit and those of any faith seeking to enrich their relationship with God, others and self. For 20 of those years, Ascension Healthcare was providing programs initiated by Sr. Maureen McGuire, DC, to cultivate spiritually-centered leadership and reverent service of persons in poverty. In 2019, The Seton Cove team led by Patty M. Speier, D.Min joined with the Ministry Formation team of Ascension, led by Celeste M. Mueller, DMin. Our unified community envisioned together an expanding community of persons, businesses and organizations leading in ways that help to heal the alienation and fragmentation that has such devastating consequences for our world.

Today

Through our programs and experiences we are building a community empowered to act in ways that heal our world.

Mandorla was born out of the shared conviction that the common good in society is empowered by the inner life of individuals pursuing their own journey of wholeness, wellness and integrity. We are a community of leaders, facilitators, practitioners and faculty finding paths to heal the fragmentation people experience in themselves, in their relationships, between communities, and between humans and creation. Through our programs and experiences we are building a community empowered to act in ways that heal our world. Join Us!!

"If people functioned out of an inner-conviction for the good of society,  we would live in a different world."    - Sister Mary Rose McPhee, DC
